Manish Garala received his dental degree in 1996 from Turner Dental School, University of Manchester, England. Between 1996 and 1999, he successfully completed his Vocational and General Dental Practitioner Degrees at Hope Dental Practice, Manchester, England. During this time, he developed a strong passion for endodontics, which led him to pursue a career as an endodontic specialist. He completed his Postgraduate Degree in Endodontics at Nova Southeastern University, Florida in 2002, with a Master of Science in Education.

Dr. Garala has been in private practice in Houston, Texas, since 2002, and has held positions as Adjunct Faculty at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and University of Texas, Dental Branch, Houston.  He is a committee member for the Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS), and has served on the Advisory Council for Endodontics with Kerr Endodontics and Son Endo corporations. 

Dr. Garala has lectured globally, most notably at American Association of Endodontics Annual Meetings (2002-2004, 2008, 2011 & 2018), International Federation of Endodontic Associations (2001), Star of the South Dental Meetings in Houston (2007, 2013, 2016,2019 and 2021), the Academy of General Dentistry (2007, 2012), and at the National Meeting for the American Academy of Periodontology in 2017.

He has written scientific papers for the International Endodontic Journal and the Journal of Endodontics, examining root canal preparation using Nickel Titanium systems. He has authored a chapter discussing canal preparation objectives for Dr. John McSpadden’s comprehensive text, “Mastering Root Canal Preparation”. He has achieved the status of Diplomate in Endodontics in 2007, following successful completion of rigorous examinations from the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Garala also maintains specialist list credentials for the specialty of Endodontics in Europe as well as memberships with the AAE, ADA, TDA, GHDS, and the International Federation of Endodontic Associations. He belongs to the University Seattle Study Club, Perio Health Study Club, and is the founder of the Stephen F. Schwartz Endodontic Study Club.

Dr. Garala has been married to his wife Kim, a general dentist, for over eighteen years and they have one daughter, Milli, who is 9 years old. In his limited spare time, he was a competitive soccer player, until surgery in 2007, and is still an avid fan. He is now a coach of his daughter’s school soccer team. Other pastimes include tennis, traveling, skiing and foreign languages.
